ACSW 2009

Introduction

See Student Volunteer Schedule of Tasks.

The Student Volunteer program is an opportunity for students to associate with the top academics from Australasia in a range of computer science subjects. In return for a few hours of their time, student volunteers receive complimentary registration, free admission to sessions, and other benefits. This year job assignments include assisting with symposia, checking badges at doors, manning the registration desk and information booth, helping with traffic flow and general assistance to keep the conference running smoothly. This page is an attempt to provide some instructions for student volunteers. See the conference web site for further information about the conference.

Student Volunteer Benefits

In 2009 all student volunteers will receive:

  • Full conference registration (valued at $550)
  • Conference dinner ticket (valued at $80)
  • Conference T-Shirt (to be worn when working as a volunteer at the conference)
  • Lunches (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)
  • Access to attend the student only events

Registration Desk

The registration desk is located in the Oceania Room and is the focal point of the conference. This is where attendees get their conference bags. If you have questions from attendees and not sure of the answer then please send them to the registration desk for clarification.

  • Press attendee (their maybe some people from various papers and magazines attending)
