Getting Here
Nelson Airport is a 10-15 minute car journey from the conference venue and is served by regular flights from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
Nelson is approximately 6 hours by car from Christchurch and 1.5 hours from Picton, which is the South Island terminal for the ferry from Wellington. There is also an
InterCity bus service between Picton and Nelson.
Airport to Hotel:
The shuttle service operated by
Super Shuttle, or email reservations at supershuttle.co.nz, is cheaper than a taxi if you opt for a shared ride ($10 from Nelson airport to the Rutherford Hotel).
It is best to pre-book the shuttle service.
Code of Conduct
Our conference is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks, workshops, parties and online media.
Agreeing to the
ANZIAM2019 Conference Code of Conduct is a condition of registration.

These representatives will be available in person and via e-mail. Be assured that if you approach them, your concerns will be kept in strict confidence and they will consult with you on any actions taken. In case of a formal complaint, they will speak to all parties involved to try to resolve the issue, without presupposition of guilt.
Women in Mathematical Sciences lunch
The conference will feature a
Women in Mathematical Sciences lunch, provisionally on Tue 5 Feb. This event is free and open to all delegates regardless of gender, although registration is required for catering purposes. You can register for this event by ticking the relevant box on the
registration form.
Mathematical Biology Special Interest Group meeting
MBSIG will have a one-day meeting following the main conference on Fri 8 Feb. This will be held at the
Nelson-Marlborough Institute of Technology (room T309), which is a 10 minute walk from the Rutherford Hotel. If you would like to attend this meeting, please tick the box on the main conference
