Rough outline of required knowledge
Material that we assume as known will be roughly:
Physics
- Classical Mechanics: Lagrangian and Hamiltonian Mechanics, Legendre transformations
- Electrodynamics: Gauge potentials, Maxwell equations
- Quantum Mechanics: Scattering theory, addition of angular momenta, ladder operators, Schrödinger and Heisenberg picture
- Relativity: Kinematics, Poincare invariance
Mathematics
- Complex Analysis (Branch points, residue theorem, Kramers-Kronig relations/Sokhotski-Plebelj theorem)
- Linear algebra
- Analysis (up to undergraduate PDE)
